How to Make Carrot Fries

If you’ve ever made regular baked fries or sweet potato fries, you already know how to make carrot fries at home, too. First, cut your large adult carrots into sticks or wedges, whatever your desired fry shape may be. Personally, I cut my adult carrots into fry-length sections, then cut each section in half lengthwise, and then cut into wedge shapes.

Next, and perhaps the most important step, pat your carrot sticks dry with paper towels. The drier that you can get them, the crispier they’ll get in the oven! Once dry, add to a large bowl and toss with oil and your favorite seasonings. I kept it simple with paprika, onion powder, and salt, but you can use anything you like!

Once well-coated, transfer to a lined baking sheet. For best results, I recommend placing a wire baking rack on top of that lined baking sheet and spraying it down with cooking spray. Then, arrange your carrots on top of the wire baking rack. This way, the baking rack allows the heat in the oven to circulate all the way around the carrots for maximum crispiness!

Finally, pop the tray into an oven preheated to 450°F (220°C) for 15-20 minutes, or as long as 25 minutes if you like them crispier. If you aren’t using a baking rack, it’s best to flip/toss them halfway through. Once they’re crisped to your liking, serve your baked carrot fries with a DIY sriracha mayo or your favorite dip and enjoy!
