Plus, quinoa hasn’t gotten a reputation as a superfood grain for nothin’. Most famously, it’s one of the most protein-rich grains. In just 1 cup of cooked quinoa, there are 8g of protein! But, it’s also loaded with fiber and TONS of essential micronutrients. Manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, folate, iron—the list goes on!

Savory Granola

Savory Granola

  • Yield: 12 servings, ~3 cups


Dry Ingredients:
1 cup oats
1 cup cooked quinoa
½ cup chopped almonds
½ cup chopped cashews
¼ cup sesame seeds
¼ cup pumpkin seeds

Wet Ingredients:
2 Tbsp yellow mustard
2-3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp maple syrup
2½ Tbsp tahini
1 tsp sriracha
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp fresh thyme
2 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp cinnamon
salt and pepper, to taste


  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Whisk wet ingredients. Add dry and toss.
  • Transfer to a pan lined with parchment.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes. Stir halfway through to prevent burning.
  • Allow to cool completely before breaking up into pieces.
  • Yields ~3 cups savory granola.
