An Unusual Superfood Addition for Ultra Savory Granola: QUINOA

Sure, you won’t find quinoa in most granola recipes. But, why the heck not?? Actually, its somewhat bitter taste is perfect for this savory granola recipe. It takes on all of the salty, zesty goodness, and adds a nice bit of crunch after baking!

Plus, quinoa hasn’t gotten a reputation as a superfood grain for nothin’. Most famously, it’s one of the most protein-rich grains. In just 1 cup of cooked quinoa, there are 8g of protein! But, it’s also loaded with fiber and TONS of essential micronutrients. Manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, folate, iron—the list goes on!

If you’re taking a multi-vitamin, you might want to consider upping your quinoa intake instead. Better yet, chow down on this savory granola! Your body and your taste buds will thank you.
