Easiest Nutella Hot Chocolate Recipe—Hot Chocolate with Nutella and Milk!
HOLY MOLY, this Nutella hot chocolate recipe is my favorite—better than any hot cocoa I’ve ever had. SO much flavor, deliciously sweet, and unbelievably simple to make. Forget those just-add-water cocoa packets. You can make the perfect hot chocolate with Nutella and milk—and that’s it!
If you’ve never tried Nutella (*GASP*), it’s just the most deliciously creamy chocolate hazelnut spread known to man. Basically, an indulgent nut butter that tastes like sweet, spreadable chocolate! I could eat it straight out of the jar…but its rich, comforting flavor really shines in this Nutella hot chocolate recipe.
Of course, it’s hard to go wrong with chocolate-flavored anything. But, with Nutella, you also get to enjoy the buttery texture and subtly nutty, roast-y flavor of the hazelnuts! (Which, in my opinion, are some of the best nuts.)
In combination, those flavors and textures take hot chocolate to a new level of warm, steamy comfort. Perfect for the holiday season, just as easy as instant cocoa, and infinitely more scrumptious! Seriously, after making Nutella hot chocolate, I don’t think I can have it any other way. Ever again.
How to Make Nutella Hot Chocolate
Honestly, Nutella hot chocolate is a little TOO easy to make…dangerously easy. Instead of mixing instant cocoa and hot water, you’re just making hot chocolate with Nutella and milk! You really don’t need a recipe, and you can whip it up in minutes.
First, get the milk of your choice simmering on the stovetop. I used almond milk to keep this Nutella hot chocolate dairy free and vegan friendly, but you could use any nondairy milk or dairy milk if you prefer.
Once it’s simmering, simply add Nutella, whisk until it’s dissolved, and serve! Since Nutella is already a lusciously creamy spread, I find that it integrates even better than the powdered cocoa mix. Perfectly silky smooth, satisfyingly sweet, and begging for marshmallows on top!
