Kid Friendly Salsa Dip – Easy Mild Salsa Recipe!

Salsa is a simple and healthy dip option that can encourage kids to eat more veggies or try new foods. But, many salsas—even seemingly mild salsa recipes—can be too overwhelming for little ones’ taste buds. Instead, try this non spicy kid friendly salsa dip!

All you really need are fresh tomatoes, salt, and maybe some lime juice (if your child likes the taste). Then, I added a bit of green bell pepper to my kid friendly salsa for a nutritional boost. After all, kid friendly recipes aren’t just about taste, but nutrition matters, too!

Of course, you can jazz up the recipe with a bit of cilantro, red onion, or whatever you like. But, feel free to leave them out and adjust the recipe to make this kid friendly salsa appealing to YOUR child’s taste.

Kid Friendly Doesn’t Have to Be Hard!

Usually, kid friendly recipes are designed to keep the ingredients and flavors simple. And, especially for picky eaters, it’s crucial to keep foods simple yet delicious and nutritious! Luckily, that simplicity in taste also makes kid friendly recipes simple to make. This kid friendly salsa is no exception!

Whether it’s for kids or adults, this is such an EASY homemade salsa recipe. Just toss your ingredients into the food processor and pulse until it’s as smooth or chunky as you like it. No need for meticulous l chopping or time-intensive food prep!

TIP: Pulsing a bit more to integrate everything makes this kid friendly salsa dip easier to scoop, and makes it easier to sneak in extra veggies! Serve with chips and raw veggies as a dip, on tacos, or even with eggs!

Non Spicy Kid Friendly Salsa

Ingredients

4-5 Roma tomatoes, roughly chopped
3 Tbsp green bell pepper, diced
1 Tbsp cilantro, chopped
1 Tbsp red onion, diced (optional)
1 lime, juiced
salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir to integrate.
  • OR, for easier prep: pulse all ingredients in the food processor until desired consistency is reached. (If you prefer a chunky salsa, pulse less or just dice the ingredients as small as you like and mix!)
  • Serve with chips or your favorite dippers and enjoy!
  • Yields ~2 cups kid friendly salsa.
