Jalapeño Beans

This dish is SO simple and still full of flavor! If you’re not a fan of spicy food, you can seed your jalapeño so you get the zesty flavor but not the heat. You can freeze this dish for up to 3 months!


  • 2 cans black beans (30 oz, drained & rinsed)
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 jalapeño seeded if preferred
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • pepper to taste
  • salt to taste
  • Procedure

  • Add oil to pan. Add onion and sauté until tender, for around 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add garlic, jalapeño and cumin. Sauté 1 minute, until fragrant.
  • Add beans and stir until heated through, around 2 minutes or so. Season to taste!
  • Serve immediately, or save for later.
  • Can store in an air-tight container and freeze for up to 3 months! When ready to enjoy, transfer to the fridge to thaw the day before you’re going to eat it, then microwave for 3 to 4 minutes until heated through.
