Piña Coladas seem like they should be healthy, being comprised of delicious pineapple and coconut–but unfortunately, pre-made mixes are packed with added sugars and preservatives, meaning they are also very high in calories! Making your own piña colada is so easy, and it’s a perfect healthy drink for a hot summer day!
1 banana frozen
1/4 cup coconut flakes unsweetened
1 1/2 cups coconut milk light, (carton is generally lower calorie/fat than canned)
1/2 cup ice crushed
1 cup pineapple
3/4 cup rum For alcoholic beverage
pinch of salt
sweetener to taste (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Add ice or milk to adjust consistency to your liking.
Serving: 8 oz glass
