Tuna has so many health benefits, including being a great source of omega 3′s! Sometimes, though, it’s hard to find creative ways to get tuna into our diets without it feeling too “fishy.” This patty makes eating tuna easy, even if you aren’t usually a fan of the nutritionally packed fish! This recipe also works great with canned chicken.
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 egg white
1 tsp garlic minced
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp mozzarella cheese part-skim
2 Tbsp oat flour
1/4 cup onions diced
1/4 tsp salt
tomato slice, optional
5 oz tuna canned (or chicken)
Place all ingredients (except tomato and cheese) into a mixing bowl. Mix, or mash ingredients together, and form into a hefty patty (this is a very generous size!).
Place patty into a frying pan (sprayed with cooking spray), and cook over medium heat until slightly brown, about 3–4 minutes on each side.
Top with a little mozzarella cheese and optional tomato slice while the patty is hot!
Devour plain, on a slice of bread, or sandwich roll.
