A sweet treat can be nutritious, too! Almonds are filled with those healthy fats, and these are flavored both spicy and sweet! A little chipotle gives it a nice kick (and is always great for that metabolism) and the cinnamon and honey balances it out with sweetness.
2 cups almonds raw
1/2 tsp chipotle powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp honey (sub maple syrup for vegan)
1/4 tsp salt to taste
stevia to taste, or sweetener of choice
In a skillet over medium heat, toast almonds for 5-6 minutes.
Mix remaining ingredients and add to skillet, cooking for about 2 minutes. Stir continuously and coat thoroughly.
Transfer coated nuts to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cool 15 minutes and then break up the chunks.
Serving: 1/4 cup
yields 8 servings
