Sweet & Spicy Almonds

Sweet & Spicy Almonds

A sweet treat can be nutritious, too! Almonds are filled with those healthy fats, and these are flavored both spicy and sweet! A little chipotle gives it a nice kick (and is always great for that metabolism) and the cinnamon and honey balances it out with sweetness.

  • 2 cups almonds raw
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp honey (sub maple syrup for vegan)
  • 1/4 tsp salt to taste
  • stevia to taste, or sweetener of choice
  • Procedure

  • In a skillet over medium heat, toast almonds for 5-6 minutes.
  • Mix remaining ingredients and add to skillet, cooking for about 2 minutes. Stir continuously and coat thoroughly.
  • Transfer coated nuts to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Cool 15 minutes and then break up the chunks.
  • Devour!
