Raita Yogurt Dip

Raita is a delicious yogurt dip used in Indian cuisine, full of fresh cucumber, cilantro, and green onion. It’s a delicious pop of freshness to add on top of a soup or curry, and it’s a great way to mellow some of the heat in a spicier dish. Or, serve with raw veggies for a deliciously simple dip!


  • 1-2 Tbsp cilantro chopped
  • 1/8 tsp coriander
  • 1/8 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 cup grated cucumber
  • 1/2 green onion stalk chopped (or regular white onion)
  • pinch of pepper
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup yogurt of choice
  • Procedure

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well to integrate.
  • Serve on top of savory soups and curries, or as a dip with raw veggies!
  • Yields ~1 cup raita.
