Healthy Pesto

Pesto is delicious, but the traditional is made with lots of parmesan, pine nuts and oil, making for a particularly high fat spread. This recipe is revamped– low fat and vegan!


  • 1 cup Basil
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • Lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp Nutritional yeast
  • 1 Tbsp Pine nuts
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1 Tbsp Water
  • 15 oz White beans
  • Procedure

  • Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend it up!
  • Adjust nutritional yeast, pine nuts and olive oil to taste.
  • Adjust water based on how thin/thick you want the sauce or paste.
