You have to have a few fundamental pieces of cooking knowledge and tools that anyone can learn, you don't have to be an expert. If we have to rely on recipes to get in the kitchen and cook something, that just means we're lacking the basics. To improvise without a recipe, you need these basic fundamental pieces of knowledge, and just a few tools, to find your Kitchen Confidence.
 Then, once you have those...
You’ll have homework each week to force you to get in the kitchen and experiment, and even mess up! I am intentionally going to have you mess up in this course to see that at the end of the day, it’s okay!

Then we’ll circle back to recipes at the end, because I want you to learn how to let them SERVE you, instead of hold you back. I want you to be able to IMPROVISE in the kitchen, so you can make do with what you have, instead of stressing about what you don’t.

Kitchen Confidence is suited for anyone who feels uncomfortable with cooking, cooking without a recipe, healthy cooking, meal planning, and/or basic kitchen and food preparation.

This course would not be appropriate for a seasoned chef, recipe developer, or expert cook.
I don’t have time for a course, how much time do I need for this?
Overall, this course requires no more than 1-2 hours per week. I’ve made sure each week you’ll only need about 45 minutes to an hour on the computer for lessons. 

You’ll have homework each week which can take as little or much time as you can allow—I’d recommend 30 minutes to an hour. The more you can get in the kitchen, the more it will help you.

What if I can’t start in week 1? Will I be behind?
Not at all! You have lifetime access to the course, so you can do the course at your own pace—take 2 weeks per section if you prefer! The more time you can spend absorbing information, and getting in the kitchen to experiment, the more Kitchen Confidence you’ll develop. Take your time! This is a journey.

In my experience, when it comes to personal growth, I believe committing to the investment up front provides accountability and a will to follow through and lead to your success.

The handouts and the videos in the course were AWESOME! I am a visual learner, and being able to go back and reference so much wonderful information is fantastic. It also is nice not to have to worry about taking notes ;)

I love that Alyssia tries to encourage people to try things they think they don't like! I thought I didn't like avocados… I tried the avocado salt test in the homework anyways and it turns out I like them. Also, I learned how to pick out a good avocado!

When I decided to take the Kitchen Confidence course I didn’t realize just what a difference it was going to make in my kitchen skills. I’ve been cooking for a few decades now, yet I still learned so much. Alyssia’s videos and content are very easy to follow, her explanations are concise and she encourages you to add your own spin on things and get creative.
